An Honorary Consulate of Romania has opened in Lviv, expanding Romania’s diplomatic presence in Ukraine and reinforcing bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyy met with Kaspars Melnis, Minister for Climate and Energy of the Republic of Latvia, who arrived in Lviv at the head of the 215th humanitarian convoy organized by the Latvian foundation Agendum.

Lviv has joined the international project «Fiscal Governance for Local Recovery and Reconstruction» aimed at strengthening public financial management at the local level. A Memorandum of Cooperation between Lviv and Switzerland was signed at Lviv City Council.

European ministers began their informal meeting in Lviv by honoring Ukraine’s defenders at Lychakiv Cemetery. The memory of the fallen Heroes was commemorated with a nationwide minute of silence and the laying of flowers.

A new diplomatic venue aimed at strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and Spain was opened in Lviv on 10 December. The Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of Spain is located at 5 Hretska Street and is headed by Honorary Consul Anatoliy Zabarylo. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyy attended the opening ceremony, congratulated the newly appointed consul. He described it as symbolic that the diplomatic mission was opened in Lviv in the year when the city held the title of European Youth Capital.
