Andriy Sadovyy Meets with Latvia’s Minister for Climate and Energy

The convoy delivered 30 vehicles for the needs of Ukrainian military and medical services. Minister Kaspars Melnis personally drove one of the vehicles to Ukraine. During the meeting, Mayor Sadovyy thanked Latvia for its support and solidarity with Ukraine. The discussion focused on the challenges Ukrainian cities face under wartime conditions, including energy security, climate resilience, and the importance of international cooperation.
Practical support for Ukraine was also highlighted. Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war, the Agendum foundation has delivered more than 3,300 vehicles to Ukraine for military and medical use. These vehicles were confiscated in Latvia for traffic violations and, by state decision, transferred to support the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Andriy Sadovyy expressed his gratitude to Latvia for this assistance. «Such decisions are not only about providing equipment. They are about values and solidarity. The fact that vehicles from peaceful Latvia will now serve Ukrainian defenders is of great importance to us,» the Mayor said.
Minister Kaspars Melnis emphasized that support for Ukraine remains a principled position of the Latvian state and society. «We are looking for real and effective ways to help Ukraine. The transfer of these vehicles is one such step,» he noted.
The meeting once again confirmed the close cooperation between Lviv and its Latvian partners, combining strategic dialogue with tangible support for Ukraine.
