Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of Spain Opens in Lviv

«Given that during the year Lviv was the European Youth Capital, I encourage you to draw inspiration from engaging with young people. They provide the drive to turn new and positive ideas for development into reality,» Andriy Sadovyy said while addressing the head of the diplomatic mission.
Anatoliн Zabarylo noted that the opening of the Honorary Consulate of the Kingdom of Spain in Lviv was preceded by close cooperation between the Spanish Embassy and the city, particularly in the fields of culture, healthcare, and education — demonstrating Spain’s strong presence and interest.
«The fact that an Honorary Consulate will now operate in Lviv is the result of the efforts of people who study the Spanish language, culture, art, and literature. I would especially like to highlight Lyceum No. 80 — a unique school with a strong focus on Spanish language studies. There are only two such schools in Ukraine: one in Lviv and one in Kyiv. Lviv is also home to higher education institutions that teach and promote Spanish culture, language, and literature. For me, it is a great honor and at the same time a great responsibility to serve as Honorary Consul,» Anatoliy Zabarylo emphasized.
The consular district of the new diplomatic mission will cover seven regions: Lviv, Rivne, Volyn, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, and Zakarpattia. As a result, consular services will become more accessible and will help deepen cooperation between the two countries.
«I visit Lviv quite often and understand the importance of this region, as it is through Lviv that European partners arrive in Ukraine, international assistance is delivered, key events with European partners take place, and major projects are implemented here,» said Ricardo López-Aranda Jagu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Spain to Ukraine.
